Pierw­sze no­wo­żyt­ne igrzy­ska olim­pij­skie zbie­ga­ją się w cza­sie z wy­na­le­zie­niem ki­ne­ma­to­gra­fu, co cał­ko­wi­cie prze­kształ­ci­ło spo­sób uczest­nic­twa w spo­rcie i jego od­biór. Po­rzą­dek me­diów zdo­by­wa pa­no­wa­nie nad po­rząd­kiem za­wo­dów spor­to­wych. Pod ka­me­rę i te­leu­czest­nic­two wi­dza, zmie­nia­ne są za­sa­dy i re­gu­ły dzie­dzin olim­pij­skich. Za­bie­gi zwią­za­ne z pre­zen­ta­cją ru­chu: zwol­nio­ne i przy­spie­szo­ne temu, po­wtór­ki, zbli­że­nia, czy gwał­tow­ne zmia­ny punk­tów wi­dze­nia, dzia­ła­ją na wi­dza jak wcią­ga­ją­cy se­rial i mają ele­men­ty me­lo­dra­ma­tu.

W cen­trum tego wszyst­kie­go jest cia­ło, od któ­re­go za­sa­dy gry nie­ustan­nie wy­ma­ga­ją co­raz wię­cej. Ukoń­czył Wy­dział Te­atru Tań­ca w By­to­miu (fi­lia kra­kow­skiej Aka­de­mii Sztuk Te­atral­nych), był sty­pen­dy­stą Fol­kwang Uni­ver­si­tät der Kun­ste w Es­sen. Wy­stę­po­wał w Pol­skim Te­atrze Tań­ca w Po­zna­niu, Kra­kow­skim Te­atrze Tań­ca i w Te­atrze Wiel­kim - Ope­rze Na­ro­do­wej.

The dance performance “Glory Game” explores the clash between modern sport and pop culture. Through movement, image and choreography, the artists investigate how the body becomes a media product, burdened with the pressure of being “faster, higher, stronger.”

The first mo­dern Olym­pic Ga­mes co­in­ci­ded with the in­ven­tion of the ci­ne­ma­to­graph, which com­ple­te­ly trans­for­med the way sports are par­ti­ci­pa­ted in and re­ce­ived. The or­der of me­dia ga­ins do­mi­nion over the or­der of sports com­pe­ti­tions. The ru­les and re­gu­la­tions of the Olym­pic fields are be­ing chan­ged by the ca­me­ra and the tele-par­ti­ci­pa­tion of the spec­ta­tor. Tre­at­ments re­la­ted to the pre­sen­ta­tion of mo­ve­ment - slo­wed down and ac­ce­le­ra­ted pace, re­plays, clo­se-ups, or abrupt chan­ges of view­po­ints - im­pact the vie­wer like an im­mer­si­ve se­rial with its ele­ments of me­lo­dra­ma.

At the cen­tre of it all is the body, from which the ru­les of the game con­stan­tly de­mand more and more. Mo­dern sports im­po­se extre­me lo­ads on ath­le­tes that exce­ed the bio­lo­gi­cal ca­pa­ci­ty of the body. Ci­tus - al­tius - for­tius (fa­ster - hi­gher - stron­ger).

Do­mi­nik Wię­cek - is a dan­cer, cho­re­ogra­pher, per­for­mer, mo­ve­ment di­rec­tor, but also a fa­shion pho­to­gra­pher and sty­list. His works are cha­rac­te­ri­zed by li­ght­ness of form, ba­lan­cing on the in­ter­sec­tion of arts and the­atri­cal gen­res and play­ing with his own ima­ge. He gra­du­ated from the Fa­cul­ty of Dan­ce The­atre in By­tom (a branch of the Kra­ków Aca­de­my of The­atre Arts), and was a scho­lar­ship hol­der at the Fol­kwang Uni­ver­si­tät der Kün­ste in Es­sen. He has per­for­med at the Po­lish Dan­ce The­atre in Po­znań, the Kra­ków Dan­ce The­atre and the Grand The­atre - Na­tio­nal Ope­ra.
